But our favorite adaptation? That belongs to Travis Garland and JoJo. Travis Garland first stepped into the spotlight as part of the boyband NLT. After the group parted ways, he focused on solo work, releasing his debut album and building a name through a series of covers. His work gained industry attention, eventually leading him to write for — and even be sampled by — Beyoncé. JoJo, on the other hand, needs no introduction. Not long after ‘BTSTU’ surfaced, the two joined forces to dive into the studio and rework it into their collaboration ‘Paint’. Respectfully, Travis and JoJo leave Jai Paul’s genius production untouched. Why change perfection? They even keep the iconic intro with Jai’s original vocals “Don’t fuck with me, don’t fuck with me.” Their version leans more into a commercial R&B and pop sound, while still holding onto the experimental hip-hop edge of the original. The result is a track that feels both accessible and boundary-pushing at the same time. ‘Paint’ is, without a doubt, one of the sexiest songs to ever be released. The lyrics leave little to the imagination. Travis takes on the opening of the song suggesting to paint the house in his old jeans, no t-shirt on, ending up rolling around in the paint making love in the mess they made. JoJo adds to the scene singing “Gotta secret for you underneath my overalls”. It is sexy, it is vulgar and it is everything you want while painting the house with your biggest crush. Unfortunately the song never made it to the streaming platforms. It’s a true deepcut that’s only to be found on YouTube. It’s such a shame as ‘Paint’ sounds timeless and remains fresh all the way until today in 2026. Travis, Jojo and Jai - can we please get this released on our favorite streaming platforms? There’s nothing better than discovering an artist through another artist you’ve been following for years. We’ve been following Thomas Day for a long time now. His songs ‘I Don’t Wanna Leave Just Yet’, ‘Pretender’ and ‘Sleep When We’re Dead’ have been on repeat ever since their release. So when we saw he collaborated with — for us — a new artist, we couldn’t wait to discover Master Peace. The duo brings us the addictive ‘Love Hate’. The catchy track, funnily enough, leans into that familiar Thomas Day sound — which only made us more curious about Master Peace’s solo work. We quickly dived into his debut album How To Make A Master Peace and his February-released EP Stupid Kids. Safe to say: we’re instantly hooked. His indie rock sound is the kind of music that makes you wish you were hearing it live, right in the middle of a packed crowd. We can’t imagine the energy this must give during a concert! For now, all we have to say is… thank you, Thomas Day, for putting us onto Master Peace with this collaboration.

Today we dive into brand new music from Brooklyn, New York singer Lekan. The artist grew up in a Nigerian household with strong cultural roots, where music played a big role from an early age. His dad was a choir director, and as a child Lekan took drum and piano lessons. It’s no surprise he developed a deep love for music early on. His upbringing in both the church and his family environment clearly shaped his sound — something that carries throughout his EP For All The Right Reasons Vol.1. The project opens strong with ‘Balance’. It feels like the perfect introduction, built around a euphoric sound that slowly grows both sonically and vocally. It reaches a high point with Lekan’s soaring falsetto, before the production strips back completely. This leaves space for a voice memo from his grandfather, offering simple yet powerful words to guide the project: “Sky is the limit, as long as you wake up in the morning.” We have no time to sit still — it’s time for Lekan’s Nigerian roots to shine. On ‘What They Want?’ we’re invited to loosen our hips to carefully crafted rhythms. Alongside English, Lekan sings in Yorùbá (a major Nigerian language) and incorporates Nigerian Pidgin. The way he blends his traditional R&B vocals with these influences adds a deeply personal and expressive layer. The track instantly stands out as a favorite to us. Another highlight comes with ‘Come Thru’. Here, we step away from the cultural fusion and lean fully into classic R&B. Lekan delivers smooth, romantic vocals over a slick production, singing: “When we tongue tied, both eyes closed. Mission’s not impossible. You know that you’re my favorite.” You can hear his musical influences from D’Angelo and the early sound of The Weeknd shining through. ‘Wildfire’ continues in that same lane, giving us the kind of R&B we crave from a voice like his. At moments, his higher register funny enough brings to mind the voice of Sam Smith. When we say family plays a role on this project, we truly mean it. Following the earlier voice memo from his grandfather, we also hear from his uncle. These personal touches give the EP a sense of intimacy and authenticity — almost like a stamp of approval woven into the music. Of course, no project like this would be complete without a smooth, heartfelt ballad. ‘Safety’ delivers exactly that. Over a warm, slowed-down production, Lekan reassures his love interest that she can always find comfort with him. The church influence shines through beautifully here, especially with the addition of a choir that feels like a warm embrace. “These streets gettin’ cold. Baby, come home right where you belong. Put that on my soul, never leave you alone. You already know.” To close, we’re treated to ‘Always’, the track he also performed on A COLORS SHOW.
