Nia Smith is a young and up-and-coming star from the UK. The singer has an incredible voice and is ready to contribute to the thriving R&B scene in the country. We recently had the opportunity to hear her live while she was the support act for Elmiene — and wow, she completely blew us away. With just a backing track and a microphone, she had the entire audience on the edge of their seats, watching her with goosebumps all over our bodies. Incredible new talent!

The singer is now back with a new single from her debut album. For the track she worked with American singer Destin Conrad. He recently announced on Instagram that he has multiple collaborations coming up with female artists within the R&B genre. You can imagine how happy we were when we found out that Nia is one of them. The result of their studio session is the smooth and classy ‘Tough’.

The song was inspired by a conversation Nia had with some of her friends about crying. Her male friends revealed they hadn’t cried in years, while her female friends admitted they had cried just two days ago. The song reflects on letting your guard down and not being too hard on yourself. We can’t wait to hear this one live.
