Charlotte Cardin “Memories”

Released 09.10.2026

Canada-based Charlotte Cardin is no stranger to jumping between languages in her music. Growing up in Montréal, where French- and English-speaking music scenes coexist, moving between the two has always felt natural to her. She has explained that certain stories and emotions feel more suited to one language than the other, and her latest single, “Memories”, from the forthcoming album Midnight, mon amour, deserves a version in both languages.

“Memories” was initially written as a sad, moody ballad before turning into the retro-tinged, dance-pop song with soulful, disco-inspired influences that it is today. The song explores how our memories can change as we repeatedly revisit them, with our present emotions gradually colouring how we remember the past. This is also part of the reason why the song exists in both French and English. Language changes how we experience or communicate an emotion, and singing the same song in two languages can create two subtly different emotional perspectives on the story behind it. We love how she brings both parts of her bilingualism together in her artistic identity.
